FO Friday: Zack Shawl

It’s been a busy week! There was the pre-holidays and then spending time with family on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day (Day after Christmas). I’ve still been knitting but not nearly as much as I was before I came to my brother’s. He has this habit of distracting me with shiny new games so I knit less. But I have a shawl that I haven’t posted on here to show off!

Pattern: Adamas Shawl by Miriam Felton

Yarn: Tanis Fiber Arts in Stormy

Needle: 4.5mm

Mods: Instead of laceweight, I used fingering.

This shawl is better known as my Zack Fair shawl in the set of KALs I’m doing with my friends. Zack took me a few months to do because it had a chart that got boring after awhile.

WIP Wednesday: Seraphim Shawl

There’s this shawl that I haven’t been able to seem to knit yet because the last time I tried, the long stockinette section defeated me. (247 stitches!) I decided I’d try it again with a yarn that told me it wanted to be a shawl. Plus, knitting it along side someone who’s on their 6th one can’t hurt, right Rae?

The shawl is Seraphim by Miriam Felton and I owe Rae my love of her shawls. We’re about at the same place I think. I’m *almost* done with the stockinette and then the fun can start! :3

FO Friday: Norwegian Star Beanie

It’s been forever since I’ve posted an FO! It’s the season of Yule which means I’ve been busy knitting presents for others. I’m certainly not making a present for every one. If I did that, I’d never have time to knit for myself! Besides, I think its more special to get a handmade present only sometimes, because then that makes them really special.

Pattern: Norwegian Star Beanie

Yarn: Cascade 220 in Red and Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Lake Ice Heather

Needles: 5mm

Mods: I forgot to do the last half an inch of ribbing at the brim so I added the same number of rows it would have been to the stockinette before the decreases.

WIP Wednesday: Black and Blue Scarf

Last month I agreed to do a scarf commission for someone on tumblr and for reasons unknown, the scarf is taking me forever to do. Sigh. But at least it’s half done now right? This is really my first tube scarf, because the two other attempts have been given up and frogged.

It’s actually a very nice scarf, so I hope the person likes it even though its taken me awhile longer than I thought it would. I haven’t heard anymore. If he decides he no longer wants it, I don’t know that I’d keep it for myself.
